Ancient Roman Dates

The ancient Romans called the days of the month, referring to the Calends, Ides and Nones, and that is what this application does: by entering a date, shows his wording in Latin (one of several). For ancient dates it shows some information about the organization of the pertinent calendar. The application considers the Gregorian and Julian calendars and a reconstruction of Numa and Romulus (or Roman) calendars.

There is also a converter that uses the latin numbers subtractive principle (4 = IV) and, for numbers beyond 3999, the convention: a line above = per one thousand, two lines above = per one million. They can be inserted Arabic or Latin digits.

Les anciens Romains appelaient les jours du mois, se référant aux Calends, Ides et Nones, et c'est ce que fait cette application: en entrant une date, montre son libellé en latin (un parmi plusieurs). Pour les dates anciennes, il montre des informations sur l'organisation du calendrier pertinent. L'application prend en compte les calendriers grégorien et julien et une reconstruction des calendriers numa et romulus (ou romain).

Il existe également un convertisseur qui utilise le principe de soustraction des nombres latins (4 = IV) et, pour les nombres au-delà de 3999, la convention: une ligne supérieure à mille pour deux lignes supérieures à un million. Ils peuvent être insérés des chiffres arabes ou latins.
